Sig is clearing these out at $599, graphite color. Has anybody used one?

Dude I was just about to post. After talking to skylar from swfa, thanks again skylar, I pulled the trigger on one. I figure i can't lose money on it and he said glass is comparable to the newest vx3i line. I like the style of the reticle, but wish subtension data was available. Gonna go on a 6cm that's getting finished up this week.

What swayed me:

1. Vx3i glass is pretty good, not tier 1 but good enough to shoot LR with for me. Glass is subjective so ymmv
2. Has a zero stop
3. Christmas tree reticle is handy
4. The Dev-L reticle has an anti cant feature (pretty cool imo)
5. For a sfp vx3i 4.5-14x40 it is same price point and this will be used for LR and need FFP.
6. Cost! It's half the price of the xtr-ii which I like, half the cost of the pst and bushnell elr.
7. Comes with coupon for free custom ballistic turret. I'm guessing like cds.
8. The few reviews I found were positive. http://www.snipercentral.com/sig-tango-4-4-16x44mm-full-review/
9. Designed by ex leupy folks.
10. Warranty is supposed to be on par with leupy and vortex.
11. Auto shut off illumination, not that I use illumination often.

Don't care for initially:
1. Color but that can be changed
2. Lack of track record
3. A few reviews said zero stop was complicated???
4. No idea what subtensions are and can't find anything on the web
5. Read has short eye relief but that could be user.

Will do full review when I get it. Will compare to Mark 6, pst, weaver tac, xtr and tx5i

Man, good scope and good price, but it's got that whore house (Horus) style reticle in there. I can't stand those!

Kinda makes you wonder what the actual cost is to make even S&B, March, Tangent Theta, Leupy Mk 6 & ???

Thanks chad for the link with subtensions that pic is wayyy better than the worthless one on sigs own sight.

On a side note just picked up some alpha brass looks pretty good. Got any firsthand experience?

Should have some 260 with small rifle primer waiting for me on front porch when I get home.

Nice. What rifle? Just be careful of piercing small rifle primers with a large firing pin.

Subtensions are .2 MIL with a dotted line at .5. I'm not a huge Horus fan but on paper that one seems ok. Would like to look through one.

That reticle is insanely busy.

I liked the reticle on my PST2, and going back to my SWFA mil-quad is like going home - so easy and comfortable to use. But that Tango4 Dev-L is an eyesore.

Seems like a heck of a deal on the scope though.

Nosler m48 and a west tx ordnance 260 back when they built on a howa. So is it just a matter of swapping firing pins? First person who has cautioned me, now ya got me thinking.

I just had a couple drinks and ordered one of these. It wasn't on my shopping list but I'm always looking for a deal. I didn't know you could order stuff retail from Sig's website.

If you go back through some of my posts I did a big write up about it a few months ago. Basically, the large firing pin creates a much larger firing pin strike (percentage wise) on a small primer, and creates a weak point in that area. This weak point can easily pierce the primer during firing. This can happen even on mild loads. It doesn't always happen, but it's common. To help combat this, you can go to a magnum small rifle primer. But even when using a CCI #450 (thickest primer cup available), I was piercing primers with my 6.5x47 L with my Surgeon rifle. I sent the bolt off for a small firing pin, and I haven't had an issue since.
