Photon XP. Multiple questions

Photon XP. Multiple questions - 10/17/16 05:28 PM

I had no idea they were so reasonably priced.

Before I rush out and get me one for 500 dollars, I few a few logistical questions.

I have a PSA 6.8 which I have named my official all around rifle, hog and deer, it has Nikon on it.

Questions:

Should I get another complete PSA upper in 223 for the Photon?

Should I just switch scopes twice a year, because deer season is only a couple of months a year.

Any other suggestions appreciated.

I use my 6.8 with the photon. I also have a 223 that can be used if needed.

I think the answer is what do you want to spend your money on. $500 for the scope plus another upper. or just the $500.

I am planning on buying one for either my 300bo or my 6.8. Plan to use a good QD mount to switch scopes and not have to remount either when I want to change.

Personally I'd buy another upper, and not in .223. I'd either get another 6.8 or 300 BO so you can night hunt and have a better chance of putting down hogs.

I liked my Photon XT quite a bit.....but I moved on to thermal.

True. I have two 300 BO uppers....one with the thermal and one with a day scope. When I go to my deer stand I carry the extra upper in my backpack. I usually have the thermal mounted walking in, and once it gets daylight I just pop the upper off and put on the one with my day scope. I do the opposite in the evening if I stay after dark and try to get a hog sneaking in.

And just switching the BCG and CH is super easy and saves some money. I'll be getting a 6.8 upper soon.
