picatinny rail for Rem 700 LA LH - 07/31/16 12:17 AM
Thinking of replacing a two piece mount on a Rem 700 LA LH rifle with a Picatinny rail. Does it matter that the action is Left handed? I see many examples that do not have cuts for ejection on either side, and a few that do. My main objective is to allow proper positioning of the scope rings on a LA without hitting the turrets or objective bell. Thanks for any help!

Depends on brand of pic rail. EGW, it doesn't matter LH or RH.

Is the EGW a good choice because it doesn't have a recoil lug?

Some people out a small lip on the rear side of the front part and call it a recoil lug. I am a fan of the latue bases. But that's just me

I'm trying to understand why EGW is a good choice for this application. I appreciate all the comments, I just like to understand why.

Precision Reflex might make a rail for your application (cut for ejection), they make them in right handed.
I would think most picatinny rails would work....I have used slotted and non slotted and never had a problem with brass ejecting.
A recoil lug is on the bottom of the rifle bbl and fits in the stock. P_102

Made in USA
Aluminum
Have fit on the ten rifles I've put them on.
Good price.
