My first red dot

My first red dot - 01/21/16 02:56 PM

Just bought and mounted an Aimpoint H1 for my Tavor bullpup. First time with a non magnified optic. I'm really liking it so far. Mounted it pretty far forward which seems to encourage the both eyes open philosophy and I'm really looking forward to shooting this later today. I've shot the gun itself several times since I bought it and really like it's ergonomics, especially after converting it to left hand operation (my dominant shooting style). For me, better than an AR when shouldered. This'll be a close in gun. Less than a hundred yards. Home/personal defense, plinking, fun shooting.

Anything special I should consider when using the red dot? Any opinions pro/con?

That will serve you well for what you're wanting. Shooting both eyes open is different and hard to overcome closing that other eye. Once you get it sighted in, place the front lense cap on and then go shooting. That forces you to use both eyes open. If you are left handed and left eye dominant it will work and you will still hit your target, not sure it works for people that are are right hand left eye dominant or visa vi

Thanks BP, I'll give that a try.
