ATN Thor-HD

In line with the X-Sight II release, looks like it's based on the same guts, but with a thermal core. Who's going to jump on one, or who's still scared (or scarred) from the X-sight? I was set to buy a HD19A, but for about the same price this is also a scope, and has a lot of other stuff included.

No range finder ?

I see they put the list in red on the left hand side of the things most likely not to work again.

Maybe they will work this time. Maybe not.

If, and that's a big IF, these functions of rangefinder and RAV video recording can work, that is a gamechanger for thermal hunting, in my opinion. No more fiddling with recorders, no more guessing on range...could be awesome.

Of course, the range finder would be tough to use on moving targets. could be a drawback but could be awesome. Could care less about some of those other features...

I'm interested in this as well. I was about to spring for an HD19a as well, but if the 2-8x works just as well as a hand held, then has the ability to be weapon mounted, it might be a no brainer. Just wonder when its available and if it will work as advertised. I don't care about all the "smart" features really.

Has anyone got their hands on one of these? ATN THOR-HD 384. If so, what's your opinion.

I am going to think about this over the weekend and do some reading . I almost just ordered one .

One would think that after recent experiences with ATN folks would hold off until this thing is thoroughly vetted. It is definitely a buyer beware situation.

Yeah, ATN beta testers have to buy the product first, then they are a beta tester by default. See "X-Sight"

You have to buy the scope to see what is in the scope... Where have we heard that before?

well guys I ordered one this morning - paid thru my PayPal cc account logged into PayPal showed money had not been claimed yet from ATN that was 7-8am this morning. Got home no confirmation from PP or ATN. PayPal no longer shows any record of the transaction and no money was taken from my account. I am on hold with ATN trying to find out if I ordered one or even if I can 4:45pm

ok I am talking to ATN and they said there online system sucks- they are checking if my order even went thru if not will reorder over the phone.

OK part of the problem is it is a PRE_ Order - they are not ready to be shipped yet > 30 days out- I went ahead and ordered the HD THOR 384 1.25X x 5X total cost plus shipping $2030.00 - I will not be billed until its ready to ship.

If you are going to PRE-Order do it over the Phone / website ordering has issues

Ahhh, the ole' pre-order trick.. didn't this happen with the X-sight?

you'll be happy with it, not as fine as their regular Thor but will suffice for anything
that infra glow in the dark while you're hunting
