I've been really happy with the Trijicon RMR on my FNP-45.

Any of the holographic sights that are for pistols will work fine. Just know, that if the holographic sight gets wet, it will scatter the display and will not be able to be used. We had a guy using one in a shooting competition during a light rain/drizzle. He pulled his pistol out, and his sight had multiple red lights displaying on the sight, and it was not usable. It was interesting to see. I'll be upgrading my G40 sights to something smaller than the normal Glock white sights.

Chad, was that guy running a trijicon RMR also? I have had mine out in multiple rainy days hunting pigs and have never had any water issues whatsoever. I might expect that from some of the cheaper less durable mini holographic sights, but not a trijicon RMR.

Chad thanks for that post. I had not considered that before and I hunt with a S&W 460XVR with a Burris FF3. It comes with the goofy looking cover for the sight but I only used it during storage. Guess I will start using it in the field now

Oh, and I highly recommend the FF3, it's held up to over 100 punishing rounds out of the 460. For the price, it's hard to beat

I sent a text to the guy that was running the holographic sight to find out which one. But I looked at it also, and we tried to blow off the water and such, with no luck.

He said it was a J Point 4 moa dot sight. When it gets wet, the drops of rain/moisture would get on or in front of the light source, and would scatter the light. It was like looking at a sight with lots of red in it, and no dot to get on target. He said the Trijicon or Vortex sights like this will not do this. They would work.

Wow, I've been reading all the problems with the RMR, a bunch of them. I'm not sure I want to put that much $ into something that's not going to cut it.

What kind of problems? I've had mine for 5 years and its been on multiple guns with thousands of rounds down range and no issues at all. Mine is the dual illumination model. It is always on and it always holds zero. I couldn't ask for more out of a mini reflex sight.

Problems with the dot fading in and out. Some reviews say the dot doesen't work at all without ambient light. Also you have to order a kit if you plan to install on a G40 glock.

Went with the green triangle RMR, I dont like optics on pistols so im still learning to use it. I have only shot 50rnds with it but I think I like it, Just takes me a while to find the "dot" im sure ill get quicker as I get used to it

Carried my G40 equipped with the amber triangle RMR all weekend while I was quail hunting out west. First time I've really shot it in the field. Took a javelina and set down at the rifle range for a while. It's impressive. Out to 100yds this thing is a hammer. Didn't shoot further than that. I was in dust for two days and rain another. No issues. I blew it off with an air hose when we got to hq.

I run the Trijicon LED RMR on my suppressed Zev Tier 3 and in a drizzling rain it turned the whole screen full of red washout.

I knew it. Got the RMR dual illuminated sight and opened the box, sight has no dot. Plus the instruction manual was for a MRO.I knew if there was a pos out there I would get it. Emailed Trijicon, now the games begin.

They take some getting used to, especially on a pistol. The dreaded "C-more stare," as it is called in USPSA.

Do these sights work good in bright sunshine?

I'm running a RMR on my Glock 40... I haven't seen any issues.. The only thing I will advise is don't get the adjustable RMR. Get the fixed. I was running an adjustable RMR on a Glock 34 and it would toggle between the settings for each shot. The auto adjust works just fine.
