Binoculars for kids - any recommendations? - 01/03/16 03:59 PM
Was looking at some Bushnell permafocus 8X32 for my kids. Anyone have experience with these or others?
Have some Steiner Predator 10x26 binoculars that I thought they could use, but they have not been user friendly (heck - I don't like them either!).
Thanks

I was looking for some for the youngest grandson. Finally decided on some Bushnell Trophy 8x32. They were a good choice. Real nice, and very affordable. Not the permafocus type.

I was going to come in here to recommend permafocus. That's what I used when I was a kid

Watch Cabelas for Bushnell binos. They put some of their models on sale for 49.00 at times.

My 7 and 9 yr olds have lots of field time on vortex diamond backs in 10x42 and 10x50. Great binos for the money.

Steiner 8x30's. Get the eye pieces focused, done.

Guess I should have asked what age?
If they are old enough to understand how to focus them, you obviously have a ton of options. If they are 4-7 years old, the permafocus is where I'd go. They just pick them up and look through them. Won't be crystal clear, but clear enough.
