savage A-17 and night vision

savage A-17 and night vision - 12/23/15 02:21 PM

So the mounts on the A-17 the ATN sight just fits but sits too far forward to use. So found a rail that fits the screw holes, but will only work using the back two holes, so wondering with the weight of the unit will two screws be enough, recoil do not think will matter as the 17 has very little.
My worry is it will work for awhile then break a screw and would be a pain to fix.
So my question is should I mount and try or find a rail that will fit all 4 screw holes, or use two rails welded to make one solid base?????

If you put a picatinny rail on it try this it is what I used on my Rem700sps 300 blkout and it worked perfect. Yankee Hill extended rail

thanks, the one you listed would not be long enough.
gun comes with two short weaver type night vision just fits but does not come back far enough
I have a 5'' weaver type rail but with scope mounted on it can only use the back two screw holes
on gun. I'll try to post a pic, my worry is the weight of the night vision and only using 2 screws
to hold it. Will check more at midway, but guess the rail would have to be 12'' or more to work with all screw holes.

Try this one.

I have several EGW rails and they all work fine, but I ordered directly from EGW.
