Check out Theron. They have a new model that with their coupon is $425. The Wapati line comes in a couple of models running around $200. They have had good reviews. I have the 8x32 Wapati and it is nice glass.

After trying out some of the other brands of binos, I bought a pair of Leupold Acadia BX2 binos last year and they are great.

Seriously, check out the Zen Ray and I thought of another Kowa SV series. The others I texted you are really good to.

I don't think you'll do better than this one for the price http://www.cameralandny.com/optics2/zenray.pl?page=zenray-zened30843 I have the Prime HD which reviews rate only slightly better than the ED3. The 10x43s are sold out.

For a $200 set of binos, I've been very happy with my Nikon Prostaff 7S 10x42s. They are very clear and do pretty well in low light. Keep and eye out and you can catch them on sale from time to time.

I went to a big box store and looked through all of the binos at one of the deer mounted on one of the far walls. I then picked what suited my eyes and the pocketbook at the time.

I just went through that same dilemma. I ended up buying a set of Vortex Diamondback 12X50 ($250and some change)and could be more pleased. They are super clear in the daytime and just as good in low light conditions too. I also looked at the Nikon Prostaff7 and they were really nice and clear also but in the end went with the Vortex. Just my 2cents worth.

Do you wear Glasses?? If not, all are good choices, if so:

Look at the Nikon Prostaff 7, very nice. I have the Vortex Talons in 10X42. Great in the blind, a little heavy for long walks without a secure harness.

Bushnell Legend Ultra HD is notably better than my Leupold BX2 that were more expensive. The bushnells really shine the areas of low light and clarity. The Leupolds have better color transfer.

Re: Need a set of binos - 11/25/15 12:32 PM

I like my celesteon nature dx 10x42 somewhere around $100. I see the value in high dollar scopes, but I don't in binoculars for hunting purposes. These are clear, and focus easily, and are better in lowlight than my scope, which is all I really need.

I've used a friends, and my dad's $500+ binocs, but for me, can see enough difference to justify the price difference. As always, your mileage may vary though. I'm also using mine to glass deer as under 200 yards, so that certainly comes into play as well.

Guy has a $400 budget, and you want him to spend $2600? Ridiculous.
