You can get some good Vortex Diamondbacks for that price range. Check out these demos - they are basically brand new...

Your best bet would be to go to any of the big name stores and look through all of them in your price range. Pick out which ones best fit your eyes and then go home and research the best price on the ones you want. What fits one person's eyes, might not fit another's.

The problem with looking through binoculars at a store is the lighting is really good in there, and the thing that makes a pair of binoculars good is how well the allow you to see in low light conditions. The other thing is how well do they handle the elements.

I've found that for the money, you are best to stick with some of the camera brand binoculars. Nikon is a very good value for the dollar.

We have 2 pair. Leupold and Nikon. Both are 10 power. Can't tell any difference between the two and the price for each was the same. Hope that helps.

Above your price range but here's an excellent sale on the 10x42 Ziess Terra Binoculars in camo. $349 (no tax for me + free shipping) with a $50 mail in rebate. $300 total if the rebate ever arrives smile Black ones are $399 and also have a $50 rebate.

My daughter ordered a set in camo Monday.

I bought some german made Minox 10x42 rubber armored binoc's earlier this year from CLNY that had been $300 on their Demo List...for $129.95 Deal of the Day....and were still in inventory couple weeks ago. Call Neil and ask him if they'll still honor that price w/free shipping.

I purchased the same one (based on your recommendation) $129 is hard the beat.

If anyone is interested they still have them on stock:

http://www.cameralandny.com/optics/minox.pl?page=deal_of_the_day_may_22_15 , Minox BF 10x42 BR Binocular #62173, you have to use link Buy Now from the deal of the day page.
