Gen2+ night vision scope vs Pulsar N550A. This was done on a full moon and and no IR was used on either device. This is round 1 of 2. Round 2 will be done with no moon and a test with IR. These are my scopes and they both have pros and cons. Keep in mind this Gen2+ will be about $1000 more expensive than the Digital unit. In round 1 you can tell me which one you prefer. Also using a 2k hd camera for the night vision pics and the digital is only snapping pics at 720x576 from the dvr.
This pic is where digital will struggle. There was a canopy of tree limbs and leaves so the moonlight could not get through it and caused it to become very grainy. This is where you would need IR.

20 yards or so just wanted to get an idea how they would look close up.
Let me know if you want me to do the IR test for them on a moonless night. Overall I feel that the digital unit is very dependent on IR but it turned out better than I thought.
