Scope choice for Fixed Handle AR - 05/03/15 04:51 AM
Last year I was fortunate enough to win a fixed handled Bushmaster from a Texas hunting organization. I could change out the upper but really don't want to if I don't have to. Some claim you just can't get a good cheek weld when mounting a scope to a fixed handle. I think I can get a fairly descent cheek/face weld and shoot her with a scope mounted up high. I can adjust and don't think it will really be an issue for me. Been shooting that little gun and really enjoy its accuracy. Good daylight I can shoot her very accurately out to about 100-150 yards. Put the pin inside center of the circle and the bullet usually goes right where you aim. Wanted to use this as my "Hog" gun but found out its much harder to put lead on target in low light conditions evening using a weapon mounted light. Just couldn't get a good sight picture with the iron sights. Any recommendations for a simple but quality scope for shooting this little carbine out to 100 yards? Missed a hog last weekend at like 60 yards. Even though I was alone it was embarassing and unacceptable. Had I had my old 670 the hog would have been DRT but again I'd like to make this little AR my hog gun. Ya'lls imput would be appreciated. Any of ya'll shoot a fixed handled AR with a scope? Pictures if you got em please.
