Nikko Sterling 3x10x44 review Nighteater - 11/07/14 03:53 PM

Any of you out there have any experience with the Nikko Sterling 3x10x44 Night eater? What would you compare it to? Is it a good scope? How does it look in low light situations? Is the Zeiss terra 3x a better scope? how about the nikon prostaff?

Zeiss is hands down better than the other 2. I have the same model Nikko you have and it's on a Savage 22mag. The Nikko and ProStaff both are pretty decent in low light conditions, but nothing near what the Zeiss will be. All that said, I have 5 Zeiss Conquests and the Nikko.

I have a terra on my ar super happy with how it picks up light at dusk. Mine is the 4x14x44 I think... paid 300 for it

the problem is I am buying a rifle that is green and has matching color nikko. I hate to take that scope off if it is a good scope. I have nikons already mounted on my tikka 243 and rem 700 30-06. I managed to pick up the ziess on trade and do not have it mounted on anything. Most of my shots are from 30 to 150 yards so I do not need anything super powerful.

its a decent scope. Not high end by any means but works. Low light isn't bad but its not a zeiss or anything comparable. I have had 2 of them and while they are not top of the line they do the job. I don't use them over 200 yards so they are fine. I however wouldn't choose them over a better name and quality scope either. But at the price point, its hard to beat.

Just shot my new 308 with the nikko sterling this weekend. My take away was that it did not seem to take in that much light. Anyone agree with me on this?
