Bump stock ban requires you to surrender or destroy ones you already have

Bump stock ban requires you to surrender or destroy ones you already have - 03/24/18 02:30 AM

Just thought I’d pass this along! According to this article the new bumpstock ban will require current owners to surrender or destroy what they have. I really have no opinion on the matter since I don’t own or care to own one, but it does refer to confiscation! Not sure if that’s 100 percent true or not!

Edit: just did a little research and it appears several states like Massachusetts has passed laws requiring them to be turned in, with stiff penalties and prison time for failure to comply!

I just don't see how they can do this. The ATF said they were legal and people spent $150 each on these things. That's a lot of money to be required to just throw away. I would think the only way they could ban them is to register and grandfather those already out there or buy them back. I don't own any but still think its outrageous.

Makes no sense at this point since you can buy right off the internet and legally possess parts to convert any AR into a select fire weapon.

I am not worried because President Trump can remove the Acting Director of the ATF and anyone one else in an ATF executive position who supports this ruling.

Have faith in our President to do the right thing..

No way an ex-democrat New Yorker would do that!

Of course if it had been Hillary it would've been a trigger ban. shocked

In its rule change, ATF simply clarified the definitions of words such as “automatic” and phrases such as “single function of the trigger.”

This is the part that is so dangerous. In the future, they can do the same thing and simply "clarify" the definition of anything to fit whatever they want to ban.

A slippery slope indeed.
I have no use for the things. But the way this was done opens the door for God knows what to be declared illegal.

It hurt my heart when I found out Trump supported the bumpstock ban. Promised us gun control reform, I was sure he would not touch any new laws that banned or restricted anything.

Bump stocks are banned and suppressors are still taxed $200 and require registration. I should have known better.

Dems and Reps policies are virtually identical, only the rhetoric is different.
