It’s their choice. But I also have the right to choose who I deal with. The list, including the N.F.L., is growing.

They just did. Admittedly 2/3 if there customers in Dallas are flakes getting outfitted to walk around white rock lake but they got quiet a few dollars from me and my group last year leading up to some mountain climbing trips. They have got their last dollar from me if they hold this position. Although I may go in and pick the equipment I want and then explain to them as I leave why I’m going to buy it online elsewhere instead.

It’s a crazy move on their part. Vista Outdoors is a huge company that carries many brands that make up a significant portion of REI’s sales. Savage is a small part of the Vista holdings and AR15s are a tiny part of Savage’s sales. Heck, Savage didn’t even have a toe in the AR15 market until a couple of years ago.
So REI loses both product sales and alienates customers to take an insignificant social stand. Brilliant.

Incase any want facts to slap leftist treebes
REI donated 77 million over “last” 40 years to conservation GROUPS(aka .orgs/special interest w/no true oversight.). Last year it was 9.8 million which is less the a percent of revenue.
Give you an idea REI was 2.56 billion and Vista Outdoor was 2.55 billion... virtually same size yet REI only gave 9.8 million to conservation, to unregulated orgs... Vista wrote a check for 89million just in 2017 to the fed to be disbursed to state conservation funded projects. These are true science based projects with oversight, there is no CEO of a .org getting 70% of it.
Essentially Vista via the Pittman-Roberson Act funded more project dollars in one year then REI has in 42 years
Why this matters———— if you didn’t know that the 11% tax’s on guns, ammo and archery equipment funds a very large part of TRUE science based conservation, neither did the non-hunting public. That’s a 11 billion dollar investment by gun and archery ownes, that is self imposed.
No other outdoor industry has an 11% (self imposed) tax for REAL conservation with REAL oversight
The fishing version is dingell -Johnson
There is no hiking, camping, bird watching, skiing, climbing, sports wear Etc Conservation tax

No there is not, and the non-hunting outdoor companies fight it tooth and nail every time the “backpack tax” subject is broached.
