I was up in the New England states last month and lots of folks up there say we don't need the second amendment any longer. I responded with the first is almost dead with all of the PC stuff and asked which one they wanted to die next. They did not have a clue. AND THEY VOTE.
Yup. The prevailing belief in that area seems to be that they know better than everyone else what's best for everyone else, and anyone with a dissenting opinion is just too stupid to deserve to be heard. Public ridicule is the normal reaction, in a very passive/aggressive way. Been that way for generations, and is DEEP in the culture of the area. Everything turns into an emotionally charged debate. Lots of phrase usage of "I feel" and very little "I know". Not a lot of tolerance for differing views there.
Sorry, I was born and raised in southeastern New England (got to Texas as fast as I could, though.), and I still have family up there. It does get frustrating sometimes.
