Thanks for posting. My son-in-law told me Christmas eve that it was all CHL. This clarifies it a little. Don't want to have to buy my meat and produce at Walmart sick

saw that on the news, still can do the CHL thing.

I think this will become common place in most business

I think seeing customers with guns on their hips would run off more customers than protestors.

I think we will see a lot more big chain stores do the same.

Open carry puts guns in the reach of children in shopping carts. One lady was killed this year by her two year old and she had her gun in her purse.

Fellow lease member took his kids into Sanderson for a break from the hunt to see the "big city lights" last week. Everyone was openly packing, including the waitress. 'Course, they're 10 miles from the reever.

It's still not legal.

"Texas supermarket chain H-E-B will not allow customers to openly carry guns in its stores even when the new state law legalizing open carry goes into effect in January.

H-E-B has started to post signs at its entrances prohibiting open carry. A company spokeswoman says H-E-B is maintaining a long-held policy to only permit concealed carry in its stores."

That's a condemnation for concealed carry. If it had been in a retention holster on her hip, that child would have never been able to get ahold of it. Even a simple leather holster with a snap.

Are retention holders required by law for open carry?

No sir. Just required by common sense.

I don't think most people are going to run in fear every time they see a
firearm on someone's hip. People are pretty quick to adapt to new things. Also, the number that actually carry this way will fade soon enough.

I won't run but I will avoid them. They have to be kooks.

Every business will be forced to make a choice on this issue, I have no problem with however the individual owner or corporation decides.....being in business is about making a profit not making political statements.

Yup, I think a few that insist on exercising their right to open carry will do it, then the new will wear off and it will no longer be a big deal.
I am a bit concerned that some wacko libs will see an open carry gun and make a scene. Stores do not want that.
We are about to see a lot more 30.07 signs than 30.06 signs.

You may be right on that, Bill.

Funny.....I grew up in a part of California where many or most men wore a holstered revolver in town. It didn't bother anyone. It was normal in ranching communities.

As an adult I chose to live in Texas........where people are afraid of seeing guns in public.

Who would have thought.......

I think most of you are wrong on the subject that it will fad out ....me personally i will carry both ways just depending on where i am at and how i feel.My brother owns a few business in san angelo and he told me last night that he would not put up any no carry signs because as an business owner he would fell safer having all his customers armed and didnt care about the ones who didnt like it he said they can go elsewhere to shop .By the way i see so many in the gun stores i go to and talk with people there i'd say 95% feel that it will be good to open carry and i agree with them , it should have been this way for a long time .I am so sick and tired of people saying it will make them a target by carrying open , the fact of the matter is it will make you more aware of your surroundings and make you more aware of what people around you are doing .
