Bugs in Corn - 08/03/23 02:11 AM

I periodically get small black bugs in my corn. What are they and do you think deer dont like it as much if a bug has eaten a little.

Probably weevils. Deer don’t care, but they can damage your corn.

you'll end up with a feeder full of dust & corn hulls.

Deer won't mind, but your feeders might.

Beware of Harvest Mites and don't put any feed sacks over your shoulder! They lived UNDER my skin for 2 weeks, itching like crazy. scared See a dermatologist quick if you get a rash looking area.

Mix in some diatomaceous earth with your corn. Will knock out the weevils and is safe for consumption

I still recall having a batch of corn with weevils, could see the feeder go off from 400 yards away from the cloud of dust.
