Any daytime Bucks in Hill County?

Any daytime Bucks in Hill County? - 10/07/18 10:00 PM

Anyone seeing Bucks during the day in Hill County? Not Hill Country! Our place is not showing anything with horns during the day and has not since a little 4 point back in early August. Everyone is telling me to put out that Magnum Scrape but I am not sure if that works or if they are watching too many hunting shows. We have plenty of Doe but Bucks are not showing face. 3 Feeders, tank pond inside cover and a plot area with trail leading to it all have cameras. Curious George right now!!!

I am north of hill country. This morning about 8:30-8:40 a group of six bucks wondered by some munching on corn and a couple of youngsters sparring. A couple of days ago I saw 2 come by about 5 PM.

I am heading out to just sit and glass until dark. Not looking good for us now. No bucks but plenty of Doe that should bring them in at some point. Farmer John next door swears he is saying a 7 and 10 but we have the woods and cover so they would be coming out of us on to him. Just so Green right now they don’t need corn and hot so they are staying in where we can’t see them.

If you can keep the doe hanging around the bucks will show up when the rut starts. Try to keep the pigs away, that always helps as well. Good luck! Where in Hill County are you hunting? I hunted the Blum area for two years, some good deer but not a lot of them. Be patient!

Found a small 7 on camera one night only. Came in at 11:00 and back out at 5:00 on a camera overlooking a field.

I now have an 8, 7, very ugly 5, and a spike coming in at night but only the ugly 5 (antler growth has him needing to hit dirt) was on cam once during the day. I sat Friday and had 5 total on me. 3 Doe and 2 very small Button Bucks with mom. Good to see both little guys have buttons for the future.
