I took this buck on my Burkburnett lease. What's up with all the trash on lower antler? Lack of protein?

Definatly a cull but that lease was way overhunted by leased land next door. I will not be there this year, that's for sure. Guy was at my feeder one morning...smh

I guess I'm missing something. I always thought trash just added character. To each his own.

I had him shoulder mount...going to look silly next to my big boys but he is fun to talk about. 14 adorable points on an 8 point frame...kinda neat. Anytime I low fence kill I feel its a better trophy than a high fence. Hell anyone can catch a fish in a bathtub with a net.

More than likely the extra base/trash points were a result of velvet antler damage and protein. Splits off the brows was more than likely genetics. He had extra protein in his diet to get that much tine length on the extras.

Conngratz congratz for such a successful hunt...Btw I want to ask do you go for scouting the hunting area by yourself or use trail cameras? I am planning to buy trail camera and confused between those listed there in best trail camera reviews available for under $200 budget with decent features.. Can you help me in choosing one of them?
