Weekend musings

Weekend musings - 11/20/17 01:42 AM

Plenty of acorns and little rain to sour them helps food plots grow unabated.

A buck with a tall rack can slip easily through even the smallest washout under a barbed wire fence.

Jumped deer will sometimes run a short distance into the brush only to stop and look back to see what flushed them.

If Columbia makes it, you can rest assured it will keep you warm.

Tell your buddy that if he's going to leave rat poison in his trailer, make sure to leave the hole open so rats can exit after eating the bait.

Antlers glisten bright,
Dash toward doe holding tight.
Binos lose the trail.

(Now you haiku.)

Moving through forests
Blending leaves, twigs, soil, and bark
Waiting then thunder.

Never wondered what it meant, all the time and money spent... to realize what it means to be outside and smell the breeze, feelings run through me strong, knowing this is what GOD meant for me!!

Sunrise breaks across the ridge, awakening diamonds of dew glistening on the brush. The view from the stand is magnificent.
That big buck should be along any second now.
Hours of waiting for this very moment. The anticipation is killing me.
Damn it.
I have climb down to go take a crap.
Right.
Now.
NOW.

Eyes bemused by fog
Tips of horns or tips of ears
No shot will ring out
