Meat Grinder - 11/09/17 08:04 PM
I want to start processing my own deer and would like to know what the best brand meat grinder is out there. Looking to spend around 300 bucks. Thanks

We have used a #32 hand crank for 30 plus years. The "motors" are a little worse for the wear, but it keeps on working. Sometimes you can pick them at junk sales, but for around $50 you can get a new one. Northern Tool has one on sale for about $40, that has a pulley on it that you can add your own motor or crank it by hand.

I have a 0.5 hp commercial grade from Cabelas.
Only takes 1 beer to grind an entire deboned deer. It spits out ground meat as fast as I can feed it. I've been using it for 4-5 years now and I love it.

I think I have a game winner No12. I can grind 30 pounds in 30 minutes or less.

I got one at northern tool a few years back. I have ground up about 12 deer and 3 hogs and never had any problems with it. It was like $99 back then. No. 12.
Step up to the ~$400 range and look at the 3/4 hp commercial models. LEM Big Bite #12, Cabela's house model, Weston

Hobart is the best, but expensive. Go by Academy and check out the LEM's. They make a good grinder. Or check out the web site...

I've had the Cabelas 1horse for years....I'd say it's paid for itself. I've made all sorts of great things with it. Now days I just grind my venison and it's still going strong.
