Good morning to all you hunters out there! Got a slight breeze in my face with temps around 60 degrees. Have seen four 8 points so far. 3 of them under 2.5 years old. The other one around 3.5. He had an extra main beam which was really cool to see! How is everyone's opening morning going?

Seen 7 bucks and one doe. Been about an hour since my last deer sighting. Rattled and had two bucks step out of cedars. Too bad they're on the wrong side of high fence. One was a double droptine MONSTER!

Wish I was in coleman county right now. Stuck at home with sick kids. Be out there later this next week. Good luck!

It was a war zone in burkett. I heard at least 20 shots in the close vicinity. I don't want to assume they were just blasting anything that moved but if they were I now see why we don't have a big deer population. And that was 20 shots in the morning. Both yesterday and again today.

I'm 9 miles or so east of Burkett, have 2 places bordering me that went through a lot of ammo yesterday morn/eve, but other than them, very little shooting. Not sure what they were blasting at. Don't want to know.

Either bad shots or filling all tags. I am praying for them target shooting. ha

It's probably all those leases that are crammed with hunters. 10 guys on 50 acres kind of places.

Missed this last weekend due to a sinus infection.
Headed up north of Quanah for a ministry hunt this weekend.
Headed out to the lease south of Cross Plains the next weekend for 4 days. Hoping the rut will be in full swing.
Any updates form out there?

They were moving more in Cross plains yesterday (Cold Rain). The bucks have broken away from there buddies and are starting to show a little interest in Coleman (county line area).

Been sitting all day today so far in SE coleman county. Haven't seen an trying today so far except 3 coyotes. Camera showed a nice 8 point that came through during the night. Have a spike and forky on the full list that I wouldn't mind seeing. Crossing fingers for afternoon and evening.

BTW, pigs are nuts out here. Coming in every night. Have the night vision setup ready for tonight. Hopefully I will score something before the day is done.

Back in the blind this morning. Fun time yesterday. Saw pigs and then had a group of 5 nice toms come in. Got my first turkey last night. Now all attention is on the deer. Have great pics of a big 8, decent 10, a really nice 7 that is also on the cull list, and a 12. Good luck to everyone.

On stand in Coleman County at least the coyoties missed me. They were happy I am home the even sang to me.

I'm in Albany. Been out since Thursday. This morning is definitely the warmest.
31° Thurs. Shot a hog and turkey.
Yesterday saw lots of bucks rubbing and making scrapes. Shot a coyote. We'll see what shows up today!

Lets see one spike, three sixes, one middle age eitght, one mature nine so far. Might shoulda shot the nine, his horns weren’t that great but he iswhat he is.

Nada up in north east Texas yet. They were chasing yesterday a good bit though.

Had a big pig in the woods behind the feeder this morning at 6 37, could have taken him but I am glad he was spooked and ran off. Not in the mood to gun down pigs at my feeder just yet, been having good deer activity at the feeder. This morning had 4 young 8s,a 6 and.a lone doe. She wanted to eat corn but those young bucks would not have it, they also put on a little sparring demonstration.

Dangit spilt my coffee ☕️. A spike, fork, and seven point. Last feed at 0830. And thank you veterans I appreciate your sacrifices.

In the stand in Erath. I've seen more deer than ever. Still waiting on the big 10. Good news is, he's on camera. Looks like it was a clean miss.

Another 8 has come thru then an 11 passed.thru in the brush, pencil rack, 15 inch wide and 13 inch g2s and 3s. I guess I am just going to watch deer this year.

This morning, I saw 3 doe and a nubbing buck. Then the double beam 8 point and a little 6 point came to eat. Had a nice 8 point come though but didn't stay long due to the double beam 8 staring him down looking for a fight. Looks like the rut is just around the corner!

1 little 8 at the feeder for a short time, 1 lone doe crossing at the back of the lease about 200 yards away.

Double beam 8 came into eat. Had 3 doe come in but would refuse to go to the feeder because he was there. When they left, had a huge pig come in. Didn't shoot because I didn't want to scare my deer away. Right at dark, had a little 4 or 6 cross the area to get a drink

Great evening and beautiful sunset, and the yotes were singin a tune during the walk back to the truck. Sounded like they were po'd because there wouldn't be a gut pile for them tonight. Guess they are just gonna have to earn it the hard way. I did get things set up for the Thanksgiving run, so its gonna be Tom Green County in the AM. I have a 5 point at the feeder. No brow tines. Looks like an old deer too.

Another 6 point showed up. Lots and lots of activity this morning

That's good. I've only seen the 5 pointer. He ate for over an hour!

My dad got a beauty this morning. We've been watching him since September. He's a 12 point with 2 kickers on g2s. 2 points are broken off.

Back at it this evening. Got my normal 8. A little 2 year old 10. And a 6 point. They aren't paying much attention to esch other considering the rut should be on.

Had a little 6 point walk on through. Then a bigger 6 and what looked to be a big 9 came in. Didn't have much time to look at him. Had a fox come right by the stand a now I have turkey walking down the hill towards me. Lots and lots of movement this afternoon

I am right on the brown/Coleman county line. Little farther north of brownwood lake

I have the usual 8 pointer here this morning, his buddies that he was hanging with are out looking for girls. Have not seen a doe since gun season began. What I thought was a doe turn ed out to be a nubby.

Lots of deer movement this Friday. 5 doe this morning. And about 50 turkeys. This evening, saw 2 doe and a little 6 point. 6 point chased off both does

Got a doe in the feeder. Hasn't even thrown yet
