Son Scores!

Son Scores! - 10/31/16 04:21 PM

Thought I'd share. We high fenced 500 acres 6 years ago with plans to improve hunting quality. We've had aggressive hunters around us so figured the best way to have a feed program and harvest rules was to high fence a portion of our low fence. Let me first say tha [img]https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/usergals/2016/10/full-24371-81635-
t. After barely surviving the drought in 2011, we are finally able to harvest some bucks this year. We started with 20 bred Texas doe with typical genetics. Since we aren't deer breeders, these deer were released and left to grow completely wild and survive just like any other deer. My son harvested this buck yesterday evening after a weekend hunt. I posted a 4 year progression of this buck a couple months ago but, the photo I had for him this year wasn't him!
I feel kinda dumb, but I'm still happy with the results. My youngest son got the buck of a lifetime, to the envy of his oldest brother! I'm posting the true 4 year progression, let me know what you think this buck scores and I'll update with the answer. Finally get to enjoy all the hard work with family, doesn't get any better! P.S. We still love our low fence pasture as well!! Thanks in advance!

So explain to me again how a deer can be "released and left to grow completely wild and survive just like any other deer" on 500 acres of high fence property?? confused2

I think the statement explains itself...You'll have to be more specific.
