Cameras. Video or pics????? - 10/04/16 11:01 PM

I always go pics. Buddy brought his card in Monday. Accidentally set it to video, we enjoyed video.

Anyone run video. Im sure it uses a bigger sd card. Battery life may be shorter. Opinions ?

Kills battery life and takes forever to go through. Cool on a gut/carcass pile though.

I've always run pics, but set it to video this weekend. We will see how they look when I pull them next weekend!

Pics vast majority of the time. Sometimes a 2-3 shot burst mode for more pics. I will set it on video on a scrape or trail that when looking for a particular buck.

I've never tried my video setting, maybe I'll play with it in the off season.

We accidently had one on video and you will get deer on there you might not get in pics as they hang outside and don't eat corn. They are usually the older guys.

I always have pics set for my main feeder cameras but I have set an extra one to video from time to time at the feeders and on trails. I have a pretty good clip of 2 decent bucks getting after it pretty good during rut. You just see some things you may not get on still pics. But yes.. it runs the battery down much quicker. I'm fortunate enough to live 30 minutes from my feeders.

Off season, I have 2 cameras on my hog trap. One pictures and one video. Give you different perspectives.
