Electronic Calls for Deer

Electronic Calls for Deer - 09/07/16 04:14 PM

Guys,

I am curious if any of you have ever used Electronic Calls, Rattling, Bleeping etc for deer while hunting? I have rattled before and had success, had a buck come in, but that was from a ground blind not a tower blind. So I am wondering if the electronic calls work?

Thanks,

Yes and like anything else with hunting it is all about timing. They can work very well or leave you thinking you wasted your money. I still prefer rattling antlers or a grunt call vs electronic calls for whitetails.

You could always just record the sound of a feeder going off... smile

I've rattled/grunted/doe bleat canned in two nice bucks in Young county from a 10', elevated tripod blind. As Ranch has indicated, it's mostly about timing and interest of the bucks in your area. If done right, it can be very successful. Many times it just doesn't result in much..Timing and practice are key..

These weren't electronic calls, all manual in nature.

I saw a feeder with a piece of tube, like from a wind chime, the corn would hit when it was flung out. Rancher calls it the dinner bell.
My Foxpro has deer sounds, I was going to try this year.

The more I think about it its a surprise that there are not a 100 different cheapo electric deer calls being sold everywhere and grunts/bleats and rattles are very common.
I would give it a shot and the cool thing about something like the foxpro is it can be put good ways away from you to create a good little setup.

Electronic calls yet don't like high fence because it is too easy? Go figure.
