Sheffield TX Deer?

Looking at a place to lease just outside of town not far from the Pecos River. Anyone hunt out that way or have pics of what we can expect to see as far as deer go in that area? Thanks in advance.

I hunt beteen Sheffield and Sanderson. Not giant deer but 120-130 is a good deer there. We had more mule deer this year than we have ever had. Lots of blue quail this year.

We used to have a lease at the bottom of Lancaster Hill. We had river frontage. Good hunting all around that area.

Which side of the river? Pecos county or Crockett? We have a canyon that leads to the Pecos river. (Crocket county)

Hwy 290 & CR 406 (AKA Hoover Divide or Mitchel blacktop)

There is a lot of big deer around the Mitchell blacktop

We shot a few that were 130-140 that seemed to be the what to expect. we shot one that was larger when I was there it scored 155.

We have had them on free range protein for the last 6 years. Body size has come way up. We have shot a couple over 200lbs on the hoof. Just starting to see improvement in antlers but that is more of a management minded group we have now.
