We already have 3 bucks that have shed. This seems very early to me. A big ranch North of town have already found 15 sheds.
I shed hunt alot and the earliest I have found is January 17. That was last year.
I visited with my biologist today at church and he is hearing lots of these stories. Probably due to the ice storms and blizzards we have had.
Any others seeing this?

Several years ago I was hunting in Lampasas County in late December, a small 8 point came walking by my stand about 10 yards away. As he walked by, I witnessed both of his antlers just fall off at the same time. If I remember right, that was a dry year, so I just attributed it to that. This time of year, they can start dropping at anytime really.

It's not unusual to see bucks with one or no antlers in January in Mills County.
This would be very early on our place in southern Dickens county. Was just out and I haven't seen any sign of antlers dropping yet. With the unusual weather patterns this year it wouldn't surprise me though.

Always lose the Edwards County ones around second to third week in March
We are in the panhandle.
I watched a buck Saturday evening that is a solid 140" 10 point run 3 does with NO antlers.
I know it was him cause he has a distinct facial markings.
Several bucks running does again here.
