Deer Down In Kendall

My son finally got his deer tonight. He has hinted hard for this deer all season we shot him around 4:30 this afternoon and a few minutes later I shot a dos so the late cleaning has just finished up LOL!! I will post pictures as soon as I get home b/c the iPhone is having problems uploading pictures.

Good deal. Meat in the freezer is always a good thing.

Thanks guys it's his biggest buck and he was very excited. This deer about drove him crazy all year as he would never give him a shot or he would come in and start running does or something else would run him off. Glad he finally closed the deal very proud of him for making a good shot and be patient.

He shoots a 243 600 Mohawk great gun. We shoot 85gr Barnes out of it does a great job.

That's what it is all about, right there, sir. Congrats on a nice and hard-earned buck for the young hunter. Experiencing success after being persistent and holding out for a mature deer will be a great lesson for your son that hopefully puts him on a shorer trajectory to become a more selective, management minded than most at an earlier age.

Thanks guys. One thing this boy knows is patience in the deer blind. I have taught him since he was 5yr old that we only take mature animals we do not kill just to kill I don't care if we go home empty handed all year he will do it the right way. I know a lot of people don't care and that's fine it's their right but I want mine to know the difference and be selective. I can only hope he learns and respects what he has be taught one day as all Dads do.
