Oh What a night.... - 11/12/15 07:43 PM
That's an old song... and a ample description of my experience yesterday. I get in my blind around 2:47 pm to hold up for the evening hunt... way warmer than I had expected and little movement early... at 4 pm first whitetail passes through , a doe... did not stop, pause or look at corn... 20 min later a small buck in the opposite direction... same thing.
Then along come the cows Ive been battling .... 4 times I have to run them off because they are scaring the few deer that come in away immediately.
As the evening light dwindles around sunset finally a bunch of whitetail come back but none Im hunting... Im about to leave... I hunt on a low fence hillcountry 400 acre lease with two other guys... other than corn... I installed a protein feeder...
Well what comes waltzing in about 120 yards out but a group of Red Deer.... I had about 2 minutes... from recognition to shot... BAM... 270... down re
d deer... cant believe it...
