Chalk mountain live hunt

Chalk mountain live hunt - 11/10/15 09:46 PM

Got in the stand about 10 minutes ago and already had a large spike come out. Windy as heck, skeeters are chewing on me. I'm looking for something other than a spike. Wish me luck.

Hahaha. I'm like McGyver. Give me some bubblegum, dental floss and a lighter and I can make a bomb...Seriously though, it keeps my weapon at the ready so I can post frivolous bs on the forum banana2

Neighbor just shot one. The boys at "Rough creek lodge" are flat tearing up the quail and pheasant. They've been shooting all day

before a bigger one showed up! up
Good luck sir!
All I saw in 3 days of hunting was a small basket rack buck yesterday morning.

Great looking set up as well !!! I am ashamed to admit I don't know how to post pics from IPhone. Dlrz71 is my IPhone expert and he hasn't showed me how yet. It's his fault! grin

Re: Chalk mountain live hunt - 11/13/15 01:37 PM

Headed to Chalk mountain tomorrow. This evening gonna' hunt at the house. I'm in big D now. Headed west at 10am this morning. Last sit at CM saw a big spike, SapperTitan saw some young bucks and an old warhorse of a buck, probably 5.5-6.5 yo. Just wasn't sure if he would make ARs. This cold weather will have them moving for sure.

Re: Chalk mountain live hunt - 11/13/15 05:53 PM

So the old war horse will probably die of old age then...haha.
Big spike as in a mature spike?
Good luck! I won't be going back till Thanksgiving week.

9pt with 8-9"brows, gnarly bases, big bodied. Too close to take a chance. Neighbor is on MLD so if he runs across the road he's legal...Kinda screwed up. confused2

Price we pay for writing lyrics in the stand grin His dad may be right around the next tree EK.

I'd rather have the peace and serenity with the lyric writing process instead of kids to my left a few hundred yards playing in the yard and about 150 yards to my right the sound of a old craftsman running over horse [censored] and branches
