BIG 6 - 11/01/15 11:11 PM

Would you shoot a huge 6 pt?

The picture doesn't do him justice. Came out this morning and I took pics through the binos.

Re: BIG 6 - 11/01/15 11:15 PM

I'd shoot that deer if its at least 3.5 years old. A truly big 6-pointer is a unique trophy IMO

Re: BIG 6 - 11/01/15 11:17 PM

He's definitely 3.5. His main beams were bladed all the way out. He came out in the pipeline 3 times looking for does. Made a scrape and left. Never seen him before.

Re: BIG 6 - 11/02/15 02:34 AM

Keep in mind that if the pics don't do him justice then he will be shrunk up on the ground too.

Re: BIG 6 - 11/02/15 03:39 AM

At the drop of a hat if he is 3.5 or older. I had one like that in my front yard one year, just standing there looking at my dogs, I could have busted him, but there is a road on the other side. Told my neighbor and the next day he took it, now on his wall.

Yes! We had a big 6 on our place last year and he was on our hit list, he was a very dominant buck and guess what? We have a bunch of little 6's running around too!!

Re: BIG 6 - 11/02/15 02:17 PM

NO to all of these...... the few times I've seen a "big 6" on my place I wanted to kick my own arz for not culling him sooner, a 3.5 6pt is probably not going to push too many bucks around, but a 4.5 or 5.5 will do some damage to better quality young deer. rifle

Shoot him or save it for a kid to shoot. rifle

Re: BIG 6 - 11/02/15 06:06 PM

It's a trophy 6 point.

Re: BIG 6 - 11/02/15 11:19 PM

He just came out again grunting and chasing 2 does. I could hear him grunting from 300 yards away. Pretty neat.

Re: BIG 6 - 11/03/15 02:52 AM

Been trying to get eyes on this big 6 for years, he goes 100% nocturnal about this time of year and then disappears until the coming fall. We always wonder if he's still alive, he just keeps coming back.

Maybe this is the year...or maybe I just tip my cap to an old, smart buck.

Re: BIG 6 - 11/03/15 02:55 AM

Pics do him way too much justice...get him out of the gene pool as fast as possible!

Re: BIG 6 - 11/03/15 02:58 AM

Just realized I may have a pic of him from 2 years ago.

Re: BIG 6 - 11/03/15 03:00 AM

Shoot him!

Re: BIG 6 - 11/03/15 03:04 AM

Not for lack of trying, hunted him hard last year...and the year before that, and possibly the year before, I'll have to go back and look at old pics.

Whatever he's doing is working for him.

That's pretty generous. Now if I told Jacob that there's a solid 180s in the area do you think he'd believe me?

Re: BIG 6 - 11/04/15 11:37 PM

I know there is over closer to you. grin

If I see that 6, he's hitting the ground and I'm going duck hunting!

Re: BIG 6 - 11/05/15 12:23 AM

I'm not sure where he's hanging out at, Sat night was the first time I've seen him this year and he was across the road. I was over there messing with a heifer until 1am that I should've just shot when I found her at 9.
