12 pt and a wiiiide 6. Ages?

Here's a couple of bigger bucks we have out at one of our stands out in Llano County. What ages would you give these two?

12 looks to have a kicker off the g2 right at the beam

Both deer look fully mature to me. The 6 point is for sure. The 12 point looks 5 1/2 but could be a year either side of that.

They are, but at our lease, any buck over 8 points needs to be at least 6 1/2 to be cleared to take it.

That 12 is a hatch asrse. He may be well over 6.5

I'd bet the 12 isn't older than 5.5

Then I'd want to see more photos before making the call on the 12 pt because I can't make him 6 1/2 from that one photo. The 6 pt. needs the air let out of him ASAP. Enter your local deer contest if they have a six point category. He might win it.

He's either 4 1/2 or 5 1/2, IMO. From those two photos I'm leaning back toward 4 1/2. Definitely not 6 1/2.

I honestly think that deer is over 6.5 think he is 7.5 plus, But it hard to make that call on a deer with no history on.

He isn't a protein hound deer nor protein heavy area.

Need more photos. But as of now post mature, knees a scared and muscles are degrading in the rear. Not something you see on 4-6 year old deer IMO

Bobo and LSTR, I see why you could call him 6+. Two different body types w/the 12 being the John Wayne variety. The 6 is built more like Ned Pepper. The 12's face, neck, eyes and ears just don't show more than 5.5 to me.

Post mature is always a hard call with out past history.. Especially on a new lease.

First buck is a 6 yr old. Second one is a 5 yr old.

Id be looking for a new lease after this year cuz id pop that 12 if i saw him...

The first buck would be my go to though... looks like a big ole 8... and meets your requirements

UPDATE

Just got off the phone with the lease manager. One of the other guys in our group sent him over some closer pictures showing some hard wear on his knees and hooves. Based on those closer up pics, lease manager aged him at 7-1/2 and put him on the kill list.

The 12 point looks to be anywhere from 4-5 years old.

I'm guessing 6+ on the 6 point and 4 tops on the 12.... he could be a STUD if he gets another year....
kill the 6 he needs to go!
