Pop Up or Brush Blind?

Starting to bow hunt this year. I hung a lock on last week while at the lease on a creek bottom that holds a lot deer. Needing to set up a pop up or brush blind in an area that produces some solid bucks every year. No trees tall enough in the area for a lock on ladder stand. A little hesitant to put a pop up blind in such a good area. There is a deer stand near this location so I don't want to get busted and booger up a good hole before rifle season. Advice?

Get you a 5' tall x 20'long 4"x4" cattle panel and some weed barrier cloth and make you a ground blind. You can add brush around it also. Make it in 5' long pieces and hinge the corners with tie wire. That way you can move it quickly folding it up. You can add a camo top or shade cloth top also. You can also make it round if you like. Just have to lift it up and crawl under.

Funny you mention this idea. I was talking it over with a hunting buddy and mentioned this idea. Thought it was the best alternative to putting up a pop up blind. The natural cover blanketed against the cattel panel just seems to be less obvious to the deer.

Thought about using this set up next to a large rock about 4' tall and 8' round. Was going to use the rock as a solid wall and cover. They regularly use a trail coming from a creek and Walk within 20-35yd of the rock. Once they cleared the rock it would be too late, dead deer!

I've used the cattle panel in the past with great succes. It's especially good if you do have cattle because they won't distroy it like a flemsy popup.
I covered mine with a camo tarp I bought at walmart a few years back, and used a couple of T posts to anchor the blind.
I also use pvc conduit to make a domed roof using about three pieces and tied in the middle and covered with another tarp.
It was on sandy soil so I dug down about foot inside the blind and I could shoot out of it using my compound bow with no problem.
It was the most comfortable and warm blind I've ever used.

Ground blinds in which ever option you choose can be very effective. Two very important rules for hunting from the ground. 1. Be smart on how and when you get in your blind. You may need to take a circuitous route to get to your hide. Don't be walking through your expected kill zones. If a buck even suspects he has unwelcome company you will have a long boring day. 2. Your wind must be perfect. No compromise here you can't push a bad wind day and hope for the best. Also, try not to overhunt the same hide. You may continue to see doe but a smart buck will figure you out. Good luck this year.

I just set up two ground blinds at one of my feeders to get ready for bow season, set up t-posts around them to tie them down and to help keep the cows off of them. One
I set up about 30 yards off a main trail to the feeder, and I asked my son if he thought deer would show at that feeder tonight (cell camera helps there) and he didn't think we would see any....well not only did they show but they showed in force tonight, as many icl's at that feeder and some doe and a yearling forkhorn as well. These blinds were not brushed in yet either, was going to do that on next trip to
Lease, but the one along the trail was backed to a small mesquite and the other against a fallen blind which has been there since I got on the lease 4 years ago. Just throwing this out there as I always have thought pop-ups would spook deer if not established for a while but maybe that is not the case???
