Thanks. I've been watching this guys for the last three years. He shows up during the spring and summer but disappears come the first week of October. Ever year I think he's been killed by the bow hunters, but he keeps showing back up. Maybe this will be the year he comes out opening weekend.

I would say 4 maybe 5. Nice body, very nice horns, no belly sag yet and neck is a little thin. Only my opinion as I have been studying the art of aging here lately. Good luck.

Man, I don't know what's giving everyone the impression this guy is 4-5. I mean, take your hand and cover up his antlers. Now what do you see? Based on the "depth" of his body, I'm gonna say 3.5 and needs another year. Unless the area he's in is known for really small bodied deer, I just don't see it.He's an awesome 8pt though! My 2 cents...

I did and he still looks like a 5 yr old long and lanky Hill Country buck to me. grin Not all bucks fit the mold of every other "x" yr old buck in that age class. cheers

Man if you've been watching him for the length of time you say, and he was shootable, then maybe he is older than I think he may be. This time of year they can be very hard to age because they are so skinny looking. Maybe he is 5 or older. He does has some nice beam mass and tine length. up

If he's a hill country buck, then I'd agree.

My first impression was 5. I called him 4 after viewing the second photo. White tails come in two body types. Short and squat, or long and tall. stx, is right about his body so he's likely 5. Very pretty deer!
