One thing I have seen several times this summer while watching axis is kinda humorous, but interesting. Not once, but SEVERAL times, I have seen bucks helping axis through the fence by doing this:

One of the larger bucks comes up to a fence with a loose lower strand. He sticks one side of his antlers under the fence and raises his head creating a gap for the other deer/does/fawns to cross. Holds the fence for them, and when they are through - lowers his head and sticks the other side of the antlers through, gets on his knees, and shimmies UNDER the fence.

The other larger bucks hop.

Can't be sure, but I think it is the same buck that keeps doing this.

I have never seen that. Around here they just tear a big hole in the fence and walk through.

Very gentlemanly of that buck. He probably gets more of the ladies that way.

You need to video that. That would be super cool to see.

Wow, even deer are gentleman. My wife is handicapped and most people turn a blind eye to her as shes entering a store. They could learn a thing or two from a deer.
