Fawn advice?

Fawn advice? - 08/09/15 05:12 AM

On my to Austin this morning I saw a set of twins that had somehow gotten out of a high fence ranch about 10 miles from my house.
The mother was on the inside trying to figure out how to get them back. I figured they crawled thru a hole at a culvert so I pushed that direction. On our way back home this afternoon I checked and they were still out in the ditch. So I drove down to the ranch HQ. The owner was just pulling out of a gate. I told him what we saw and discussed how he might get them back over. There is not a gate on that fence line so opening a gate was not a option. He was going to go see if he could pry the water gap open so they could get back in. On our way home we had to drive by the fawns again and saw the doe frantically trying to jump the high fence.

My question is do game wardens help with situations like this? Thinking about driving back in the morning to check on them.

thanks

Cut hole in fence and hope they reunite on the right side if I was the landowner. Otherwise, not much anyone can do. Little early to be without mamma.
