Looks like I'll be getting on a lease in Quanah about a mile north of Hwy 287. Place is just over 900 acres with 6 guys on it. Any info on that area as far as how it hunts with that number of guys? I know the terrain is a bit open so any info is appreciated.

Too many hunters for that area, but that's my opinion. We have 2000 acres between Iowa Park and Electra with 4 hunters, and I think we would be better with 3, but I'm picky:). But, if the group is very selective and low key, it could be really good. Let us know how the hunting is.

That's too many hunters for that area if you are harvesting Mature bucks. The hunting can be really good depending on the terrain you have and hunting pressure.

2 mature bucks maximum is all 900 acres is going to withstand without shooting out that age class and others that are younger.

Good turkey, hogs, white tail and possibly Mule Deer if you have the right terrain.

Just beware of the Pease River. While I was hunting there, it ate a jeep, F-250, Chevy Silverado and nearly the quad wheel, Massey Ferguson which finally pulled them all out

I really liked the ranch we were on, VERY rugged, had lots of all types of game and critters.

Cant remember the name, Pitchfork maybe??

3-4 too many guys on that lease. If you do hunt that many, I would break up into groups of two and draw week/weekends, whatever.

What type of terrain are you going to be hunting? The land could be rolling hills with lots of trees or cleared and mostly level farm land. The genetics are good in that area and you should have both mule and WT.

Depends on the place, I've seen 900 carry that many hunters, and I have 1300 that doesnt have a deer on it, in that same area. No one can make that determination without being there.
