Age for this East Texas buck - 01/27/15 07:04 PM
Finally have this deer coming in during daylight hours after removing the feeder and hand corning. Looking forward to what he becomes as he frequents my new bow stand location almost every morning. He looks somewhat young to me and may be hard to tell without the daytime pics. Any thoughts?

Wouldn't put him any younger than 4, probably older for how he looks that time of year.
Looks like about 3 if the date is correct on the picture. Should be looking good next year if rifleman and his deer killin kin don't shoot him.

I'm just learning to age these suckers so I appreciate all the opinions. He has some good webbing on the main beams, but his tine length and girth seem to be lacking. He seems comfortable in this thick wooded area (approx 250 acres of 700). I have him on 3-4 cameras all the time, but never anything further out. Should be easy to ID him next season and it'll be nice to see what all he adds.

I would call him a 4 yr old. Nice buck.

Here's another picture. Has some stuff hanging down in the chest area.

Based on the second pic I would say 4.5...
First pic looked more like 3.5...
What county?

He might only be a 3.5 then, lots of groceries down that way for them to grow big on!

I agree with all the 3.5 guesses.
