seen any deer in the Davy Crockett forest - 11/15/14 05:51 PM

I have been set up in the Davy Crockett national forest and saw a few small bucks opening weekend and nothing since. I just keep seeing foxes, anyone seen any bucks in that area?

I have never hunted Davy Crockett, I have been hunting the Sabine National Forest for 19 seasons now, seen alot took alot. Had a few non-legal bucks come under my stand opening weekend, came back on the 12th. last Wed., and took a 3yr. old 8-point, he was rutting with 2-mature does in tow. Come on up to the north end of SNF and take a look. Its not type 2/public, you only need a hunting license and 144 inches of blaze orange... The TPWD doesnt allow four wheelers or baiting, but it is easier to hunt than Angelina Nat. For.

I saw a ten point opening morning that was plenty legal but just a three year old. Hope he makes it because he was a wide-racked buck for his age. Just too little height and mass.
