My first deer was expensive

With a vehicle that is...

12,700 worth of damage. Airbags deployed, inside of SUV smells like a poorly butchered deer. Luckily, noone was hurt.

The doe was just a tad heavier than your typical German shepherd. Ridiculous.

Now, I am just going to kill as many as legally possible.

More pictures right here. What's some of yall's most expensive roadkill?

That sucks big time. I hit a axis on 10 the other morning. I was able to get slowed down from 75 to 40 before impact. Ranch Hand bumpers are well worth the money. Washed the blood and hair off and no damage to vehicle or bumper.

I totaled a 1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria responding to a hot call one night. It was about 3AM, just north of Dripping Springs. Big ol' doe planted firmly in my grill at 80mph.

I feel lucky now, hit a young six point last Dec head on in my Titan. Truck did great, about 2500 in damage, not so good for the deer. Bothered me for weeks though.

Good perspective, that deer could have ended up in your windshield.

Ouch!!! That sucks. Just glad no one got hurt ( other than the doe). Vehicles can always be fixed.

Bad deal. Glad no one was hurt. I hit a doe that was on a kamikaze mission on the highway between Brownwood and Brady one night while doing 65. I had a ranch hand full front bumper. Even with that, I was sure I messed up the front end. Pulled over at the first light post and nothing but hair and blood. First thing I've done ever since is gone and got a heavy duty replacement bumper for any new truck I buy.

So did you drop her off at the processor? Being that you went through all that effort to pre-tenderizer her.....

Re: My first deer was expensive - 11/12/14 01:29 PM

Update: Insurance called and decided to total it. Wrote me a check for $14,700, after my 1K deductible. Oh well. Apparently the airbags were too expensive to replace. I'm ok with it. I didn't think I'd get that on trade in or if I was selling.
