Jones County Texas (North of Abilene)

We didn't see one deer on opening weekend.

Has anyone else hunting in or close to this area been seeing many deer?

Im on the west side of Hawley 20 minutes from Noodel.

Not that close to you, but in SW Stephens County, north of Cisco, things are still pretty slow. In 10 sits I've seen 11 deer, but 6 of them were on the same evening. Hopefully, the cold weather coming this week picks things up. Its very green on our place, so a couple of good freezes should cut back on some the native groceries and get them hitting the corn again.

Yea I think it was just a slow start this year and it is still pretty green on our place as well.

Im headed out this weekend and with this good cold front coming im hoping to see some movement.

With the cold and if we get a good frost, they should start hitting the feeders this weekend.

Sure do hope so. Since this is our first season on this place and it hasn't been hunted in 6+ years.
We also did some research on Jones County and it looks like it has produced some quality bucks out there, so we are hoping to see if we can bag one.
