Before and After - Jack County 10 Point - 11/03/14 09:49 PM
I'm proud of this one. For those of you that hunt Jack County you know it can be hard to hunt. The before pics show it, they are all night time. I have a place off of 1191 south of Bryson. I didn't see anything opening morning. Saturday evening I saw 3 doe. Then yesterday morning there was a legal buck at the feeder early, but I passed. A doe came by a little later and then around 7:30 I turn my head from my feeder area and this 10 pointer I have had on my cameras is staring at me from 40 yards away. I about mess my pants. He puts his head down and starts walking away. I take the opportunity to get my gun ready and fortunately he stopped to look at the blind again - I have no idea what was going thru his head but it was his last mistake.
I don't know what his age is (old) or score guessing between 120-130. He has good mass. Inside spread was about 18.5 inches, I forgot to measure his beams before taking him in but as you can see they are pretty long. One very long brow tine and one short one. Very neat looking buck to me. He was fat and healthy.
Sunday evening I hunt my place in Young County and darn if I didn't see a 10 pointer there too (no near this big though). I saw him again this morning too. I left him for one of my boys. There is also a 9 pointer at the place in Jack that is as big as this 10 point, hopefully one of them will get a chance at him during the rut.
