Smith and Wesson 1000S 12ga - 08/29/23 10:02 PM

Selling a rare version of the Smith & Wesson 1000S. The "S" designation is for the skeet model. Pics don't do justice to the wood as it is highly figured. 12ga 2 3/4" chamber. 26" barrel in fixed Modified and is factory ported. When I purchased the gun, the stock had been cut down about 2", so I added the figured spacer. It can be easily removed for a woman or younger shooter. Gun has amazingly little recoil and a light, crisp trigger. The Model 1000 series were gas-operated auto-loading shotguns produced for Smith & Wesson by Howa Machinery in Japan. As marked on the barrel, they were manufactured to S&W specs. Production began around the mid-1970s and continued until 1985 with several different models hitting the American market. Gun is immaculate in condition. $500 Located in Waco

Cool gun but why would a skeet gun have a modified choke?

Not sure, that's just how it came. They made a Skeet and a Trap version. The trap version had a longer barrel. Back in the 70's maybe modified was just more "normal" before all the screw in choke availability?
