Solar charger for a trickle charger

Solar charger for a trickle charger - 10/20/17 07:02 AM

Anyone know how to hookup a trickle charger to a solar charger. I would like to keep a trickle charger on my ranger but we shut off power at the lease when no one is there. Any ideas or thoughts? Is it even possible to connect a trickle charger to a solar panel and make it work?

Not a direct answer to your question.

A close friend owns an older Jeep. He parks it outside and does not drive it that much. He keeps a solar panel on the windshield/dashboard that plugs into the power point (used to be called the cigar lighter). I ask him if it works and his response was "the battery does not go dead anymore". I also ask him where he got it.... harbor freight.

Walmart and tractor supply both have 12v solar panels back in automotive that will keep your battery topped off simply by placing alligator clips on the battery. If it's 5 watts or less you don't need anything else, just plug it in and walk away.

I second the Harbor Freight plug in. Used it for my lease Jeep. Works. Cheap too.
