New model Mule?

I have a 4010 Mule that I am about ready to replace and would like to hear from those of you who are using the newer model Mules. I mostly use it at very low speed farm type use and bird hunting rig. A lot of slow and even idling type use. My question is, do the new model Pro Mules operate at low speed as well as do the old 4010 type does? And I need the big wide bed so my dog hauling rig will fit in it so Rangers are out. Thanks in advance!

I have the new model Mule Pro FXT. I love mine, lots of power and as far as low speeds it works just fine. I use mine for the same thing, Ranch and hunting. You'll love the new model, and when you want to go fast it'll get up to about 43mph and it rides better than the older models, much better.

Have had several Rangers out here, and a few weeks ago the new Viking by Yamaha. I like my Mule better, the Viking was so loud it was hard to talk while riding in it.

I use mine to spray fence lines and Mesquites and I have to go slow, it works very well. Only complaint I have is changing the oil filter, you have to take the back seat out to do it. It's not hard, just could have been designed a little better.

Stompy, regarding your oil filter, I think there's a fix for that if I remember correctly. I can't remember if the Kawi dealer will do it or if it's a DIY thing though. Basically take a hole saw and cut the plastic cover under the seat and there's a "plug" that you can put in it to cover the hole up, but it helps you gain access to the oil filter without having to jack with the seat. I'll see if I can find it somewhere.

You know, I'd plan to do just that but I couldn't find a plug that was big enough to fit. Thanks, I'll check into that.

I have the new diesel model and high gear is equal to low on most other models. Top speed 30 mph and loud.

Curious as to what others have to say about these new Mules myself. Looking to replace a 25 yr old Mule 1000.

I had a 3010 trans and bought the pro FXT earlier this year. Quiet, plenty of power if you want to go fast. I don't think it will haul as much weight in the bed as my old style, but the ride is better and overall I like it better.

I've got a ranger crew 800 and the ranch I hunt and help on has a 1 yr old mule pro fxt el. Had 2 of the trans mules before and older Rangers. I've run all of them and really like the fxt. Only issue is in stock form it is much too low and the rear end drags on the ridge between the ruts on two track roads and most any rock will hit the skid plates. I need to turn the shocks up but don't have the tool. Not sure it will be enough anyway. I've got arched forward A arms and 28" tires on my ranger crew and it literally has a foot more center ground clearance.

I have a 2015 Mule Pro FXT and I work it hard on the ranch and also use it for bird hunting, deer hunting, checking fences and everything in between. The ride is awesome and does a great job. Due to some elevation and rocks, I put a 3 inch lift on it and it works amazingly.

What lift did you use?

I went with the DXT Mule Pro. Just fed up with gas engines giving me trouble while my diesel powered equipment never need anything but clean fuel to run for thousands of hours trouble free. Ran it for 4 days on a west Texas bird hunt last week and it used 5 gallons of fuel, which is about half what we would have put in a gas rig on that run. A little noisy but very comfortable ride and drive and power to spare. Not sure the plastic underbelly is going to hold up long term to the mesquite, cactus, and shinery oak but still intact after first run. At this point I'm quite satisfied just hope it stays that way.

Love mine. I added a three inch lift kit as well as a roof, glass windshield, stereo, bed extender and more. Best utv I've owned
