2" or 2.5" front leveling lift

not sure which one to do for a new f150 xlt 4X4 with 20"wheels. mainly regular road use. I go off-road during hunting season and on the beach to surf fish. I only tow a small utility trailer converted for kayak but we want a small RV eventually. I dont want the front to be higher when we get an rv and haul it. would the 2.5 cause that? thanks for any advice

Depending on what travel trailer you get, the front may be higher than the back without a level. If just looking to level I would go as small as possible. I personally like the slight forward slant, though it appears its not a popular look.

Then you don't want a level kit OR you add airbags to the rear to offset the weight of the trailer to level it back up again.

The small trailer probably wouldn't mess with the level to much (unless you're loading it with ATV/UTV stuff) but an RV definitely will.

On my 2012 Fx4 I had a 2.5 level and it sat nose high. 2 inch is perfect for those trucks. Even without the level, it would sit nose high towing a flat bed with 4 ATV's. There's not much suspension for towing heavy loads, but they sure ride good. If you don't want it nose high then look into rear airbags

Get a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks for the front and call it good. You can get 2" of lift with them.

This. Much better than spacers and rides good. Get a set of airbags for the back if you squat too much.

Looking to do front and rear spacers on my 08 Tundra 4x4.

I've had bilstein 5100 on 3 different trucks. Never again, rough ride as they were no improvement over stock rancho. For the money, its hard to beat spacers. Now, if money isnt a isdue, Fox makes a nice leveling strut. King or Icon also make nice improvement. Bilstein is coming out with a new version. It might be worth looking into.

I just put the Bilstein 5100s on my Tundra on the top setting with a shim which yielded 2.75 inches of lift. I did a Add A Leaf in the rear for 1.5 inches of lift. The ride is very nice and much smoother than I suspected with a AAL. The new Bilstein 6112s seem nice but are pricey. Pro Comp Pro Runners are another option similar to the Bilstein 5100s and easier to find in stock

2.5 will give you a bro lean. You might go 2.5 in front and a AAL in the rear for extra load capacity. Spacers are OK for pavement but if you take it off road then I would go with a full kit.
