Big sow taken at 128 yards with a BB Gun - 12/21/17 04:47 AM

I shot this pig Friday evening and I didn't find it till Sunday morning so it bloated some. I shot it with my .257 AirForce condor at 128 yards. For reference my airgun is 52" long. Any guesses as to the weight?

Either 50-300 lbs somewhere in between

Here are a couple more pics for reference. Here is one I shot with my AR10, and another with the two hogs together:

Your guess is slightly better than my 5-500 pounds.

Very impressive taking piggies out with an air gun up

That's an awesome air rifle and even more awesome you're killing hogs at 128 yards with the gun.

I could careless if the hog was 5 or 500 pounds because that's an impressive feat you've pulled off.

I posted a thread in the hog forum that tells a little about my airgun. With the built in silencer, I was able last weekend to shoot and kill 5 hogs with my airgun. The first two hogs weighed maybe 25 pounds. I always shoot these hogs just above the elbow an inch or two. On one of those small ones, I got a complete pass threw. It is expensive to get set up using Ultra high pressure air, but after the inititial investment it doesn't cost anything near what a PB cost.

That is cool. Never heard of someone putting down a hog with an air rifle. Congrats man.

Sounds like a great tool to take out Yotes also while deer hunting, what is its estimated longest distance to kill a pig or yote.

Re: Weight on this pig? - 12/22/17 01:49 PM

That depends on the power level. At sub-sonic speeds, I wouldn't feel comfortable shooting beyond 150 yards. But I know some guys that Hunt the deserts in California and they build this specific gun, tune it to 1500fps and kill coyotes out past 300 yards regularly.

128 yards with an air rifle is impressive! What was the drop at that distance?

Re: Weight on this pig? - 12/22/17 05:39 PM

In this video of my hunt, the main crosshairs are set at 30 yards, then the next horizontal down is my 50Yard mark, the bottom horizontal is the 100 yard mark. the very bottom of the vertical is my 128 yard mark. Not sure what the distance is in Mils or Moa? This is one of Mike Tillman's scopes and you move the crosshairs to the POI, so they are not stationary. Sorry for the poor quality, the scope video is quite clear and focused. This picture is so bad you can't hardly make out the Horizontal lines.

Looks to me like that gun weighs about 7.8 lbs.
