Cold snowy big 9 - 12/13/17 01:26 AM
Played hooky from work this afternoon, went hunting and ended my deer season. Headed out around noon and set up about 1:00 pm. Conditions were cold (4F) with a steady NW wind at about 20 mph. I have to be honest - at 50 years old I can see the end of hunting solo in conditions like this in the not too distant future. Cold never used to bother me but 3-4 hours in the open on a day like today is my limit.
I am not usually a fan of selfies but at some point I decided to take pic of my shooting lane and the camera happened to be in selfie mode and when I saw how crazy I looked I just couldn't resist:
This is the pic I was trying to take:
You can just see the limb of my Excalibur Micro 335.

He field dressed 209 lbs for an estimated live weight of 265 lbs. I can attest to the weight as I forgot my bloody toboggan and the 1 mile drag back to my truck was something of a chore.
