My son has been hunting with me since he could walk. He's been around guns and shooting for a long time but I've been slow to let him pull trigger on big game. I just didn't feel he was ready until this year. I expected to take him out and he might miss a couple animals before we ever connected. Boy did he prove me wrong. Last Friday night we had our eye on a little spike. We were waiting for him to get out of the feeder pen to present a clear shot. Before that happened the deer was spooked by something, moments later a lone boar came out to the feeder. Now our target became the pig. He steadied up and waited fir a clear shot, did not rush at all. Bam, one shot pig down. We were both so excited! Lots of high fives! The next morning we returned to same stand to focus back on a deer. At first might had 2 small bucks at feeder, both were culls. Once again we got ready and waited for a clear shot. This time he was a little more nervous but didn't pull the trigger till he was comfortable. It took a while and I got really nervous lol. Bam again, one shot dropped right there. I couldn't be more proud of him and his composure. I think the hunting video games do help lol! I look forward to many more.
